In most cases, small businesses do not have technology savvy employees, sometimes relying on friends or family to help. As the business grows or the technology expands (more computers, more applications, more online services), business owners often turn to IT consulting firms to outsource technology management and maintenance. But even in those cases, business owners and their staff may not fully understand what technology they have, how everything is configured and used, and what improvements might be possible.
